Pix Media – How Pricing Works (Universal Guide)

Pix Media projects are built on two layers:

  1. The Pipeline – the stages every job flows through.

  2. The Scale – how big, long, and complex your version of each stage is.

Every project starts with Stage 1, and you can add as many stages as you need to match your goals, budget, and vision.

1. The Pipeline (Stages)

Stage 1 – Content Capture Only

Best for: Projects where everything is already organised and just needs to be documented.

You handle the planning and coordination — I focus purely on capturing the day with skill, speed, and attention to detail.
At events, I still use all my knowledge of angles, light, and timing to capture moments beautifully, but there’s no creative development, scripting, or heavy pre-production on my side.

The goal: cover what’s happening and deliver the finished files you can use straight away.

  • Budget-friendly: Most affordable way to get professional coverage.

  • Scales up: Works for anything from a quick 1-hour shoot to a 12-hour wedding.

Stage 2 – Pre-Production

Best for: Projects where key moments, story beats, or creative elements need to be defined before the shoot.

We work together ahead of time to decide exactly what matters most for your project.
This may include:

  • Listing key moments or shots to prioritise.

  • Locking in timings and logistics.

  • Choosing the best locations or setups.

The goal: arrive with a clear plan so nothing important is missed.

Stage 3 – Expanded Capture

Best for: Projects where you want more variety, depth, and creative options captured on the day.

We build on the solid base of Content Capture by adding:

  • Multiple angles or camera movements.

  • Lighting, audio, or drone to enhance visuals.

  • Guided moments to make scenes feel natural and look polished.

The goal: create a richer, more versatile library of material that can be used across multiple platforms and formats.

Stage 4 – Specialty Add-Ons

Best for: When you want custom or advanced production elements.

These can include:

  • Drone operations.

  • 360° video.

  • Interviews and sound bites.

  • Multi-day coverage.

  • On-camera talent or actors.

The goal: bring unique visual elements or extended coverage to your project.

Stage 5 – Post-Production

Best for: Turning raw material into a finished, story-driven product.

This can include:

  • Editing and sequencing.

  • Colour correction and grading.

  • Audio cleanup, mixing, and soundtrack integration.

  • Titles, branding, and graphics.

The goal: deliver a polished, ready-to-use final product for social media, websites, presentations, or broadcast.

2. The Scale (Sizing the Work)

Within each stage, the price changes based on three factors:

Duration

  • Short: 1–2 hours

  • Medium: Half-day (3–5 hours)

  • Long: Full-day (6–12 hours)

  • Multi-day: Multiple shoot days

Complexity

  • Simple: One location, minimal gear, natural lighting.

  • Medium: Multiple locations, extra lighting/audio, some coordination.

  • Complex: Multiple crew, actors, permits, specialised equipment.

Output

  • Small: Raw files only.

  • Medium: Basic edit or short deliverable.

  • Large: Multiple videos, polished multi-minute edits, different formats.

3. Example Builds

Small Budget Example

  • Stage 1 only, short duration, simple setup → 350
Example: 1-hour café shoot for social media content.

Mid-Range Example

  • Stage 1 + Stage 5, medium duration, moderate complexity → 1,500
Example: Small business promo video with short edit.

High-End Example

  • Stages 1–5, long duration, high complexity → 6,000
Example: Multi-day wedding film with drone, interviews, cinematic edit.

4. Why This System Works

  • Universal: Works for an hour-long content grab or a week-long cinematic campaign.

  • Flexible: You choose only the stages you need.

  • Scalable: Each stage can be light and quick, or big and elaborate.

  • Transparent: You see exactly what drives the cost — time, complexity, and output.

5. Your Project, Your Pipeline

Start with the foundation — Content Capture — and build from there.
The bigger the vision, the more stages and scale we add.
The smaller the budget, the leaner we keep it.

Either way, you’re in control of how far we go.
